Why Alacati Is a Dream for Bougainvillea Photography
Alacati sits on the Cesme peninsula, famous for its narrow cobblestone streets and whitewashed houses. The local architecture uses natural stone and plaster, which creates a soft, warm backdrop for the bright magenta and hot pink bougainvillea. Unlike the more manicured gardens you find in big cities, these walls have character. The vines twist around old doorways, spill over rooftops and drape across wooden shutters. This combination of rough texture and vibrant petals is what makes Alacati stand out for floral wall photography.
Most of the best walls are found in the old Greek quarter, especially around Kemalpasa Caddesi and the side streets near the central square. The light is also a big factor.
